After a long winter, spring is beginning to awaken dormant seeds. Brilliant colors are starting to replace what was once dull and subtle. Vibrancy is overtaking sobriety.
Without fail spring follows winter, reminding us the light appears even after the darkest night. The new astrological year actually begins in the spring when the Sun comes back around to Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. Aries represents rebirth, resurrection, and renewed energy both in our outer and our inner worlds. This New Moon is in the sign of Aries. In fact, we have a hefty dose of Aries energy flowing through our veins this month as the Sun and Moon are joined by Mercury (going direct the same day), Eris, and Uranus.
Spring, though beautiful and lovely in its conception, is creation itself.
As we watch new seeds fighting against gravity and soil emerge victoriously,
As we witness new life pushing against once defined borders.
As we remember the tumultuous brilliance of birth itself,
We are reminded that discord and conflict are inherent to becoming more alive.
“Before a great vision can become a reality, there may be difficulty. Before a person begins a great endeavor, they may encounter chaos. As a new plant breaks the ground with great friction, foreshadowing the huge tree, so must we sometimes push against difficulty in bringing forth our dreams.
Out of Chaos, Brilliant Stars are Born.”
~I-Ching Hexagram #3
Rebirth, resurrection, and revival require shaking up the status quo, throwing away the confines of our limitation, and courageously expanding the parameters of a known world. By definition, it only happens when we boldly push our limits. Things are starting to MOVE after a period of stagnancy.
With Uranus (the force of revolutionary authenticity) and Eris (the force of discord), there is probably some shocking of consensual reality at play. Something we have to push against, work hard for, and sweat a little to claim.
The atmosphere is ripe with potential, the air heavy like a building storm of creative expression. No doubt, you might be feeling the chaotic disorganization somewhere in your life. Something is coming undone so it can be courageously faced and dealt with.
Thus, the keyword for this cycle is ACTION.
There is no point in knowing without force or truth without follow through.
Aries reminds us this is a choice point of possibility, an opportunity to move, respond, take a stand, set a vital boundary, and assert a specific side.
DO something.
By definition, there is nothing wrong with assertion, conflict, frustration, or the force of anger itself. It is not less spiritual, less enlightened, or more psychologically advanced to be devoid of any emotion. In fact, spiritually bypassing the whole of our being is missing the mark entirely.
Aries reminds us of the gifts of these forces in our lives. (Gift of Anger)
What often stops us is our inborn fear of rejection. Both Uranus and Eris speak to that. When we claim the light of assertion, conflict or anger, we have creation itself. We have freedom, inspiration, innovation, and inspired leadership. Of course, when our fear of rejection supersedes our grounded self, insecurity becomes the channel resulting in the controlling forces of tyranny, rage, manipulation, and aggression
The two parts to real assertion are:
Speaking our truth from a grounded sense of self
Letting go of another’s need to like it.
What are you being asked to stand for?
What chaos is arising that offers creative potential?
Where must you assert your truth becoming the warrior of your own tribe?
What is asking for rebirth in your life?
Aries lights the way.
Ready, set, action
“Look deeper through the telescope
and do not be afraid when the stars
collide towards the darkness,
because sometimes the most beautiful
things begin in chaos.”
