New Moons plant seeds of potential. This seems an appropriate theme as we welcome the beginnings of spring. I love watching the world come alive again after the dormancy of the winter months. I am forever amazed as new shoots and buds form from what is convincingly dead and forgotten. Perhaps, we should welcome this truth as we contemplate change in our lives. Both to remind ourselves what may seem like a sure end is a beginning, and that hope is always alive despite the darkest doubt.
This New Moon is in Pisces. Echoing these potent themes. Pieces is the last sign of the zodiac before we begin again in Aries. It is the divine and decisive phase between the known and not yet know. Piscean times remind us of the need to welcome and take refuge in uncertainty, which requires things like trust and intuition. Piscean insight often arrives via more esoteric but no less valid vehicles. This is why it is vital to pay attention to those “other” ways we receive information. The Piscean part of us is how we uniquely define and connect to the divine. So it also reminds us of the lesson of dissolving our attachment to outcome opening the door to an expanded perspective. It is the ability to stay ever curious and ever aware of the paradoxical nature of our world of form as it dances with what cannot be logically explained. It is the seat of things like hope and faith, believing in the unseen potential of not only what is but what could be.
There is some of that being birthed right now. Some tendrils of optimism etched with grace. Some assurance. Some confidence and conviction. Some promise of a new day. Soak it in.
Piscean times ratchet up the sensitivity in all of us, so we pay attention to truths only found in the feeling arts. They are meant to rouse incredible compassion where love is a force, not a feeling. Because Piscean perspective shatters the convenient illusion, we are separate. There is no escaping that truth. We are interconnected in miraculous and indescribable ways, whether we like it or not.
Where this New Moon falls in your chart signals some seeds of beginning dancing with ending. We can’t have one without the other after all. Some heightened heart expansion. Some required feeling and compassion for that experience.
So stay curious, pay attention to dreams, signs, and synchronicities. Let go of what is asking for release and lean into uncertainty for the magic it holds. Honor the sacred practice of forgiveness and surrender, letting go of what is no longer serving to make room for what does. Look for the gifts and graces ever-present, even in times of tremendous uncovering. Get quiet. The silence has more to say than the noise. It speaks the language of peace, gratitude, and the promise of hope itself.
Because hope is how the impossible can become possible.
“TO BE HOPEFUL in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness.
What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places—and there are so many—where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction.
And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.”
