New Moons represent new beginnings, and if there was ever a time we need a new start, it is now. You, like many, are likely feeling disillusioned, disappointed and maybe even bitter of late. Recent events including the election of Donald Trump for president, his recent appointees and proposed policy changes have created discord no matter which side of the fence (no pun intended) you find yourself on. The North Dakota pipeline is yet another example of this pervasive air of disenchantment. As I write this blog, a day before Thanksgiving, it is heartbreaking ironic there is a literal battle being held between big business and Native American landowners. Again, we witness broken promises defeated and defended by greed.
Have we learned anything?
Has history taught us nothing?
What do we really believe and stand for?
What is being revealed during this trying time is the very real and dark truth that we are nowhere near as enlightened, open-minded, progressive, informed, or educated as we thought we were.
In depth psychology, there is an understanding that to grow, evolve and heal, we must first make the unseen seen and the unconscious conscious. If we skip that step, the latent undercurrents of habitual stories, spells, and habits will continue to wreak havoc in our reality. These unconscious processes are very much like the background programs running on your computer. You may not see them, or even know they are there, but they absolutely determine what shows up on your screen. Current events have not revealed anything new. They have just excavated shadow truths like racism, prejudice, fear, greed, and depravity that have been there all along, lying dormant, stealthily working behind the scenes.
Sagittarius however, is a sign of truth, of change, of optimism and of hope. It reminds us transformation, especially of the shadow variety, is not easy to acknowledge let alone accept, but it is a necessary part of healing anything. Sagittarius reminds us we must often embrace the inconvenient truths to lead to empowered ones. It is time to commit to a new cycle. One where we challenge once buried, shadowy, habitual beliefs and principles, and in doing so transform them into enlightened ones.
Just like the archer Sagittarius represents the arrow of truth is pointed right at the rotten places. We can no longer look away. Sagittarius is an action sign after all. Like the fire it embodies we must set a course for a new horizon and set out on our journey forward, not knowing exactly where we will end up.
We have been cast adrift. What has been seen cannot be unseen. We have been thrown into the gap between the known and the not yet know. Where will the journey take us? None of us really know. What we can discern and commit to is it will not take us backwards.
We are smack dab in uncertainty and it may not feel very good. Leaving the confines of our comfort zone rarely does. This is the thing though; change is outside what is familiar. What we all are seeking is change from the ground up. Gone are platitudes of political correctness and diplomacy. This kind of leap takes seismic bravery. The kind of courage that wells up from deep in our bones, lent from the DNA of ancestors and stands on the shoulders of truth seekers and action takers before us.
This is about remembering when we are our most vulnerable we are actually our most strong. When we lean into the unknown, we crack the door to unlimited potential.
Maybe things are not breaking at all but shifting, expanding, growing and transforming. Maybe we are not falling apart but being given the opportunity to fall together in a better way. Maybe things need to shatter so they can finally mend .
“All great change is preceded by chaos.” ~ Deepak Chopra
Let us see the current chaos as potential for real healing. Let us crack the door to hope. Because hope and faith are not forged in certainty and they are not at all passive. Faith is commitment joined with conviction taking focused action. Faith is the lighthouse through the journey of change.
So…
Let it all inspire you, not shut you down.
Let it ignite passion and focused action.
Let it offer you the clarity of discernment and not fall into the confines of judgement.
Let it burn a knowing truth inside you must let forth.
Let it defend your truth with clear assertive and not aggressive fear.
The journey has begun.
So, donate, stand up, join in, speak up, protest, protect, object, demonstrate, boycott, challenge… change is earned not freely given.
This new journey of uncertainty does not mean we will have all the answers, all at once. After all, there is no faith in knowing exactly how things will work out. Faith is a verb, a potential, and a choice point to choose love, truth, trust, connection and integrity every single time.
Faith is hope in action, even when the skies get dark and there is a storm front approaching.
Faith reminds us even in the darkest night the sun will rise again.
And Light wins every single time.
Faith is remembering that.
