We begin the last month of the year with a feeling of forward motion. A refreshing change from the profoundly reflective often-stationary heaviness of the last year.
Most all of the planets are now direct, and we are rushing into 2020, a pivotal year for significant growth.
We start the year with a significant stellium in Capricorn. A line up of planets that hasn’t happened for 700 hundred years (since 1285). We also have the powerful Saturn Pluto conjunction setting off the next three-decade cycle in Capricorn (for more on that go here). These themes though powerful, are not exactly new. I have been talking about the Capricorn/Cancer correction all last year.
Collectively, Capricorn rules government, big business, laws, banking systems- basically the structures of our outer world. Archetypally Capricorn is our inner CEO, adult, advocate, and authority, pushing us to grasp our most vital mission in the world.
Take a look at our current political cycle (or any major country in the world), and you see this structural recalibration in action. We are feeling this shift on a more personal level too. This Full Moon in Gemini, we are asked to get curious about just what that learning is.
Full Moons are times of culmination.
Where the most hidden is brought to light.
Gemini’s gift is one of curiosity- where information, flashes of insight, and epiphanies flow in at record speed. Its challenge is making sure the data is coming from our highest selves and not the many parts that work on autopilot spinning out the same old stories. Gemini’s power is its ability not to let fear stories saturate the lightness of self.
Because Gemini reminds us, curiosity and fear cannot coexist. A powerful truth as we look back at the last year and look forward to the next.
What was last year meant to teach you?
What truths (albeit not always pleasant ones) have arisen?
What patterns, structures, beliefs, and habits are no longer working for you?
Where are you giving your power away in the hopes of feeling secure (but are really staying stuck)?
What are you most afraid of?
These are likely questions you have been asked to face in 2019, and probably not by choice. It is very likely you have experienced some dark nights and shadow journeys. Take time now to honor your path and what you have learned, because you will be living these changes in the year to come.
Neptune squares this Full Moon giving Gemini the added benefit of intuitive knowing and perception. So when you ask these questions, allow the answers to emerge from your highest self, signs, guides, dreams, or however, you touch that divine knowing.
We are entering some rapids in the next year.
Some shifting sands and collapsing of old paradigms. Some revolution, some restructuring of political, social, and humanitarian vision.
In our outer and inner worlds, this is good news, as the old systems are no longer working.
Revolutions and restructuring are notoriously messy, though. Gemini reminds us disorganization is okay sometimes, needed even, so that we can rebuild systems better. Let us not let fear tell us a different story.
Curiosity and fear cannot coexist.
When we are curious, we allow the possibility of choice, of potential, and of hope, which are all necessary tools on the journey of late.
Nothing can grow in a closed system, whether that is a mind or a society.
Let us embrace the curiosity Gemini offers us.
