First off, I want to extend my deepest gratitude and aloha for all your donations, support, and blessed words regarding the tragic fire on Maui. I truly appreciate and am humbled by your responses. Please know grief is a journey, not a destination. It is a marathon, not a sprint. It is also unique to everyone- no grief journey is the same. Even after the initial shock, a myriad of emotions can arise- everything from denial, anger, sadness, anxiety, and guilt. So, wherever you are in the process, just be there. Grief is a pyscho/spiritual wound that just needs to heal. Additionally, make sure to also ask for support if needed. None of us are meant to do this world alone.
Which is a massive lesson of the time.
I personally, have been surfing these waves, but so many of you are too. There is no shortage of intensity right now-which makes sense. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac before we begin again. Thus, it represents that space between what was and what will be. The grace and grit of the grief journey are found in the turbulent seas between those two points. This is precisely where we currently find ourselves. With all but three planets currently retrograde the pause is really real.
Pisces makes us FEEL things. Because Pisces is that force in us that asks us to see beyond ourselves. It dips its toes into the existential, a belief in the existence of a reality that is beyond what is visible. It is feeling stuff, intuition, vibes, synchronicities. A bit magical and definitely mystical, Pisces offers a wider perspective and expanded heart. It is compassion, empathy, cooperation, and the courage to feel what is both beautiful and hard.
This is also why Virgo and Pisces stand in natural opposition. Sometimes, we need to focus on the details, straightening the minutiae of our lives and taking clear action (Virgo). And sometimes, we need to look at our lives from an expanded, more holistic and receptive perspective(Pisces).
Sometimes, we are meant to do both.
Welcome to this Full Super Moon in Pisces, where doing both is the medicine.
Piscean wisdom ushers in the mystical, which can be a panacea to hardened hearts. Thus, allowing our feelings to emerge is part of the current alchemy as we drift in uncertainty. Grief is the literal process of letting go of what was to make room for what is. Pisces times make that process sacred. Yet, with Saturn, the planet of earthly reality checks and reason, standing with this Full Moon and the Sun in Virgo in opposition, we are being tasked to do more than just feel. We are meant to do the gritty work of grief, where we have one foot in the ending and the other in the becoming.
Because Saturn is our soul work. The real work of trust. The real work of surrender. The real work of wisdom. Of accountability. Of forgiveness. Of love. Of compassion. Of service. Of harnessing the discipline to commit to the daily grind of change. Saturn asks us to walk the Piscean talk. Often, the most difficult things in life bring us back to the most basic and simple truths, which are the ones we are meant to embrace. Challenging times offer a renewed perspective, revealing what is MOST important and what isn’t. But it isn’t enough to name them. We now have to live them.
A note here, though, because this work is edgy and piercing. For some of us, the soul work will be action, service, or grasping some inner change. For others, it may simply be getting through a day, hour, or breath. So be gentle with yourself. It’s a lot to navigate. And it takes whatever it takes.
In truth, Piscean times are meant to change us. And change, especially the kind that summons the hero’s journey of grief, isn’t chosen, desired, or easy. It is HARD. The challenge is courageously facing what is. One foot in front of the other and staying present to the soul work at your doorstep.
The grace is remembering we only grieve what we truly love.
