This is the second consecutive Full Moon in the sign of Capricorn, empathizing Capricorn themes. What are those? Pay attention to any truth bombs, consequences or any life events/realizations that you can’t unsee. Capricorn deals in what is, which doesn’t always match with what we want it to be. With the last Full Moon at the first degree of Capricorn and this Full Moon at the end, the realness is emphasized.
And this Capricorn vibe is not new. We have been navigating Capricorn terrain for a while. In 2008, Pluto entered Capricorn, where it has been ever since. Only recently (some last year and this one) has it begun to dip its toes in Aquarius. The United States also had its first Pluto return in Capricorn (which happens about every 248 years), starting in 2020 and ending in November 2024. Basically, anything Plutonian represents an opportunity to look at what isn’t working and improve it. Pluto, God of the Underworld himself, is helpful in the revelation, just not subtle in delivery. Things have been and are certainly being uncovered.
Perhaps you remember me writing that Capricorn represents structures and foundations over the last few years. Whether that be external in the form of government, leadership, laws, banking, and infrastructure or internal in the form of mission, duty, and responsibility. Maybe you also remember me writing about how all these things are being called into question, any dysfunction rising to the surface—shadowy layers on full display. The point, of course, is to reveal what isn’t working and find better ways. Because if Capricorn represents foundations, it is vitally important to assess how those foundations are being built.
Things like integrity, honor, honesty, and principle matter. Our actions, words, and choices define us. They determine the consequences of our experience. If we don’t like the end result, we need to look closely at what got us there. As a world, a nation or an individual, what we do, what we say, and the actions we choose define exactly who we are.
This is why the first Capricorn step is to assess Truth with grounded precision. This also might be where things get complicated. Certainly, the concept of Truth is a struggle right now. We are at a crisis point of malignant disinformation and cognitive dissonance at the very highest levels. Actualities are dismissed or ignored. Perception can be faulty and personal. Opinions are confused with facts. Capricorn, at its very highest destiny, though, is powerful in its ability as a discerning critical thinker and Truth detector.
And Truth matters, especially right now. Capricorn is our inner realist, fact-checker, mature adult, and wise voice of conscience. It is the kind of Truth we may not want to see, but what we need to see. Truth like that is often simple but not necessarily easy. It is clear, grounded, radically accountable, and without emotion. It just is.
Many have commented on the tumult in our political system, saying, “This is not who we are.” In fact, this is exactly who we are. What we are living is the result of countless dysfunctional choices, actions, and words that have created the polarity and discord we see now. We cannot change what we don’t acknowledge. This happens on a personal level as well. Perhaps there is something in your life you are being asked to get real about. Some misalignment with intention and actual action. Now is the time to get really real.
Because in its highest destiny there is no sign with more moral fortitude and honor than Capricorn. There is no sign with more resolve for real, tangible change. Capricorn, in its highest expression, is right leadership, masterful authority, discernment, and actions congruent with principle. It is how and when we walk the talk. It is just, determined, stoic, and noble. Capricorn does hard things.
Of course, this same Capricorn force can be channeled through shallow, insecure, and fearful places, creating shadow expression that is powerfully dogmatic, dangerously selfish, autocratic, and tyrannical. It uses that force of authority to control rather than inspire.
There are shades of all on full display.
Change is coming. We can expect that. Pluto will soon move into Aquarius for good in November 2024, where it will stay for two and a half decades. That will bring an entirely new cycle of growth. But we are not done with this cycle, and what happens now determines the flavor of change we will experience in the years to come. While astrology can tell us the “what” and give us the most optimum path ahead, it is up to us to choose which path to take. We are undoubtedly at the critical degree of the uncovering that started four years ago. The discovery is at its peak. We are literally living that recalibration. Expect to have many choice points arise in the next few months where right matters. Expect to face some critical, perhaps challenging truths. Expect some turbulence as inevitable innovation clashes with habitual tradition. Expect to use those required Capricorn forces of reason, integrity, steadfastness, courage, and discipline.
We need more of that right now. More truth tellers. More integrity. More right action. More leadership that weaves empathy and assertion. More genuine wisdom at its finest. Capricorn reminds us we are not powerless. Far from it. We have authority, discernment, and enduring integrity to do hard things. Because the fated potential for powerful change is here. It is our destiny how we choose to live it.
“To become a true global citizen, one must abandon all notions of ‘otherness’ and instead embrace ‘togetherness’. The world is no longer white, black, yellow and brown. Through love, tribes have been intermixing colors to reveal a new rainbow world. And as more time passes, this racial and cultural blending will make it harder for humans to side with one race, nation or religion over another. Therefore, practical wisdom should be used to abandon any cultural, social, religious, tribal, and national beliefs of alterity altogether. This is the only way mankind will truly evolve. Segregation is a word of the past. Unity is the key to a peaceful future.”
